NEW COMPANY RENTS HIGH-TECH SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS
Chesterland, Ohio, December 20, 2000
.
State-of-the-art surveillance equipment–including a miniature camera with a pin-hole size lens–is now available for rent through a new company called The Hidden Eye, Incorporated.

The Hidden Eye, founded by Chesterland residents David J. and Shelley Young, will temporarily install surveillance cameras and recorders in homes and businesses at a fraction of the cost of the equipment.

"There are many, many situations where this type of equipment is needed today, but the cost of purchasing and installing it is prohibitive," says David Young. "The Hidden Eye makes it affordable for storeowners and homeowners to protect their property and loved ones."

From a shop owner trying to prevent vandalism or monitor loading dock activity to the resident who wants to keep an eye on home contractors, child caregivers, or health care workers, there are hundreds of applications for the surveillance equipment offered by the company. The cost of equipment rental, which begins at $150, depends on the type of camera and installation, and the length of the rental.

For covert surveillance, the company offers a miniature circuit board camera with a 3.6 mm pin-hole lens that can be installed virtually anywhere–in a wall, recessed light, alarm clock, or telephone. The hidden camera produces black and white video, which is taped on a 24-hour continuous recorder.

Another of The Hidden Eye's cameras is ideal for installation outside a homeowner's garage or in the backroom of a store. The wireless camera, which can withstand temperatures of -14 degrees to 122 degrees Fahrenheit, is capable of transmitting both video and audio signals to a recording device placed up to 1,500 feet away.

The company's time-lapse recorders time and date stamp each videotape, which is necessary for legal purposes and makes viewing convenient and easy.

Young, a native of Lyndhurst, stresses that The Hidden Eye is a rental company, not a private investigation firm.

"The Hidden Eye rents this equipment to individual residents, businesses, or anyone looking for the peace of mind video documentation can provide," he says.
