PlanetKnowHow.com Debuts;
Aims to Answer World's Quest for Knowledge
.
Cleveland, Ohio, August 2000--How do you negotiate the best deal on a new car? Start a gourmet club? Choose learning toys for your baby? Make the perfect martini? And just how do they build a ship in a bottle?

All those answers and more will be available at PlanetKnowHow.com, a new Internet site that will debut online September 15, 2000.

The dot-com, created by Pony Computer founder and chairman Joseph Chou, is a dynamic "how-to" web site offering intelligent information and resources to accomplish virtually any task. The Internet start-up also provides turnkey e-commerce programs with both business-to-business and business-to-consumer business solutions.

"Our goal at PlanetKnowHow is to develop the world's largest database of useful knowledge for living, working and learning, using the Internet as both a source and a tool for gathering and linking application-specific information for those who need it on a global scale," says Mr. Chou.

Visitors to PlanetKnowHow.com will be able to explore 15 categories of information--from sports & leisure to travel to health and fitness—or pose a question and conduct a "how-to" search. Searches will elicit direct and expertly researched answers along with step-by-step instructions, visuals, a marketplace to purchase related products, interactive tools, and links to services that can help get the job-at-hand done.

PlanetKnowHow has commissioned a team of professional writers and partnered with established national publishers from across the country to research the answers to hundreds of questions, from the practical . . . how do I make chicken stir-fry? . . . to the unusual . . . how do I bathe a Chihuahua?

"Our high-powered search engine draws information from the universe and gives highly focused answers, not lists and lists of obscure sites and links," says Mr. Chou. "It's what we call intelligent information and it's the distinct advantage of PlanetKnowHow.com."

PlanetKnowHow offers e-commerce solutions targeted to small- and medium-size businesses. The company's team of Internet professionals offers customized web sites and start-to-finish e-commerce programs--including everything from site promotion and marketing to order processing and fulfillment.

"We make getting into e-commerce effortless with PlanetKnowHow's turnkey approach," says Mr. Chou. "We will develop, host, and manage e-commerce activities so that a company can focus on other lines of business.

For businesses just venturing onto the Internet, PlanetKnowHow offers storefronts on its virtual shopping mall. The PlanetKnowHow Marketplace using our trademarked Data Market Bundling service to promote the products gives businesses with a small range of products national and international exposure at minimal cost.

"We found that small to medium-size businesses are really under-served and looking for a way to generate revenue on the Internet," adds Mr. Chou. "Our business model provides this segment of the market with a cost-effective way to join the world of e-commerce."

With plans to publish its site in four languages--English, Chinese, Spanish, and Japanese—PlanetKnowHow hopes to become a universal tool for both consumers and businesses around the globe. The company has also launched two programs that provide public Internet access in waiting areas and shopping venues.

A native of Taiwan, Mr. Chou earned a master's degree in computer science from Ohio University before joining St. Luke's Hospital as a computer systems manager. He founded Pony Computer, Inc. in 1988. In putting together his Internet start-up company (AtHowTo.com, Inc.), which is partially funded by the Taiwanese Internet company Taiwan.com and the Asian cosmetic giant Natural Beauty, Mr. Chou assembled a creative development and management team with years of successful business, information technology, web development, and editorial experience.

"At PlanetKnowHow.com, we've got great technical capabilities, expertise, unique market strategies, and specially designed software tools," says Mr. Chou. "But most importantly, we've got a real passion and commitment to reaching our goals."
