ACCOMPLISHMENTS
- Serve as a member of the media relations staff for the annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), the world's largest medical meeting. Each year, the media effort results in extensive print, radio and television coverage, including ABC News, CNN, the New York Times, Washington Post, Time and Newsweek magazine.
- Established the public relations function at the $1.6 billion Second National Bank and conducted the bank's PR activities for six years. Garnered significant local and national media coverage through a comprehensive media relations program; authored the bank's first Web site, employee and customer newsletters and sales and collateral materials; conducted ongoing media training for officers; developed the company's crisis communications plan; and assisted in successful branch openings and bank acquisitions.
- Developed a marketing program for a foot surgeon including physician referral, advertising and media relations components that increased new patient appointments to a record level and obtained both new physician referrals and patients.
- Helped establish Volunteers in Medicine, a free medical clinic that was created to serve the 12,000 uninsured and economically disadvantaged individuals in Monroe and Owen Counties, Indiana. MRH Public Relations led the communications effort including website development, media relations and fundraising support.
- Wrote news releases, editorials, newsletter articles, web content, white papers and professional articles on the products and services of Diebold, Inc., a global leader in providing integrated self-service delivery systems and services.
- Received the Award of Excellence for a Business Strategy Story in the 2005 Ragan Recognition Awards for an article on enterprise spend management in Diebold's Connect magazine read by 13,000 associates around the world.
- Served as a consultant to Evanston Northwestern Healthcare's new Cardiovascular Care Center, producing capabilities brochures on heart treatment and research, developing and implementing media relations plans, and assisting in marketing the center.
- Provided public relations and marketing communications for the law firm of Bunger & Robertson in Bloomington, IN. Services included media relations, advertising, collateral materials and website development.
- As manager of communications for a two-hospital system, St. John Hospital of Cleveland and St. John & Westshore Hospital in Westlake, Ohio, managed all internal and external communications, media relations and special events and directed a communications campaign for the merger of the two institutions.
